As the car parking near the party place is very limited, we recommend you use the train and bus option.
If you intend to come by car, please call one of the numbers below.

■Q&A

A. Camping gear, bbq sets, enough food and drink for the time you’ll spend there, rain-coat, towel, tissues, torch, portable ashtray for smokers, insect repellent etc.

Q. Should I plan for cold weather?
A. Yes. The party spot is in the mountains, so there is generally a big temperature difference between day and night. We definitely recommend bringing some warm clothes, and being responsible for your own well-being.

Q. Will you be selling food and drinks?
A. We will be selling a limited amount of food and drinks, however we recommend you bring enough for your stay. Also bear in mind, the nearest convenience store is at the bus stop, which is a considerable walk away.

Q. Is there mobile phone reception?
A. We failed to get reception on DoCoMo /au / Softbank networks when visiting the site. We strongly recommend making arrangements with friends and OTG Organizers in advance.

Q. Is the party location bright at night?
A. Apart from the main stage, there are no lights. We recommend bringing a torch with you.

What? How is this possible? What happened to Spring? And wait a minute – it’s only March! Don’t worry, faithful Freeta followers, Marx, our suave, jet-setting flat wax handler took a short hiatus from the cold of Tokyo to the sunny shores of Australia. December here is cold, but Down Under it’s balmy and full of BBQs. This mix reflects that – a perfect journey through smooth LA funk, discoclash and blissbleep. Two seasons for the price of one. If you’re waiting for the spring to arrive, and dreaming of summer – let us be your selectah.

New Year, New DMX Krew

Oh yeah, first of January and what a lovely surprise over at the new Rephlex  online store!

DMX KREW - Wave Funk

DMX is back with 17 choice electro cuts available for a very reasonable six pounds twenty five pence! This a great electronic music release – listening to it as I type, and DMX keeps it funky, full of warm analogue bleeps and my favourite part about it – good solid basslines. Download it, stick it on your ipod, grab your tracksuit and bump it out from your motor. Boom!

jah_light_500

Tokyo’s greatest dub and roots reggae system is back for a cheeky bout of bass and beats on Sunday December 6th @ Daikanyama’s Saloon. 1000 yen on the door and it all kicks off at 6pm. As usual, the dope selectahs will be spinning their favourite island anthems, but this event will feature a special live from Mantis, who, based on previous performances will be bringing massive beats to rock Tokyo’s fattest system. Surely an event not to be missed and a special treat for all fans of electronica in Japan.

Last.fm skipping

Nov 17 2009
TrackBack Address.

What happens when you type “japanese electronica” into the tag search of last.fm? It throws up some unusual choices, but you do come across some great artists that you’ve never heard of. Keep hitting that skip button often enough and you’ll soon slap the last.fm robot selectah into shape. So far, today’s click-hopping came up with these little treats:

Fleckfumie

Tiny, but not tinny. Rather like having a bath in an old cupboard and then dozing off to find all of those old board games that you used to play when you were a kid have fallen in the water with you and you are now surrounded by soggy monopoly money and bones from “Operation”. The music, is thankfully a lot better than my writing, so go check ‘em out.

Akihiro Yokotani

No messin’ about here. Straight in with dark, distorted beats dropped onto a dark background of spooky pads. I’m a sucker for this sort of thing, and fair play to the lad, he knows what he’s doing. Good ipod electronica for the following activities: skulking, stalking, buying/selling drugs and making love (when you’re really tired).

Moskitoo

Never heard of her before despite being remixed by a ton of famous producers. I’m just not as hip as I used to think I was. It’s how J-Pop would sound if it was produced on a busted netbook running a cracked copy of max/msp. In other words, it’s pretty damn good. Atmospheric and twisted, but more like a cinnamon twist than a twisted sister.

Naohito Uchiyama

What’s with Japanese dudes always using their real names to make music under? Can’t anyone just use a weird pseudonym anymore? Anyway, this fellow makes sweet beats, minimal and atmospheric. He’s from Sapporo apparently, which means  he must have a lot of free time to polish up those groovy electronic sounds. Good work Naohito.

YouTube user pixmusic shows what you can do with a single loop on the Elektron Machinedrum and a whole lot of parameter locks. Apart from being educational, it’s a pretty damn funky electronic music jam to boot.
